For those of you who know me, even just a little ... I have a very ... well, stubborn, determined, intense kind of personality. As I have gotten older, I have learned to channel this energy into positive outlets like my schooling, exercise, reading, developing my opinions, the gospel, etc.
Well when I was young, this intense energy was a source of havoc for my parents. When I latched on to an idea nothing could convince me to let go. This is the story of the red bunk bed.
I thought bunk beds were the "coolest" when I was about six or seven--and I had to have one. And not just any bunk bed, but a steal framed red bunk bed. It was beautiful: deep cherry red, wide round still frame, the little ladder that hung from the side to climb up into my "throne." Oh how I loved that bed.... and once I found it. I had to have it.
It looked very much like this one, just look at it? Isn't it lovely? When I finally go by perfect bed, it wasn't long before I outgrew it and moved on to other things... so it was hauled off into the basement until my parents sold it.
But I still love it. I can still remember what it felt like to lay on the top bunk so high in the air.
Absolute magic... at least for the six year old me.

That was a VERY cute story, and I love bunk beds too! Each one of my kids has been on the top or bottom of one at some point in time! In fact, I think we've had a total of 3. I was always hoping they would choose a red one, but we compromised with 2 white ones and 1 silver one!
