You know that ridiculous little saying, "Home is where the heart is?" Well, tonight I realized that there is something to this little phrase--there is something more behind it.
I realized that home is deeply embedded into my heart--woven into the very fabric of my being. And I don't mean my physical home but my emotional and spiritual home that has been cultivated in my deep family relationships--with my parents, brothers, and sisters.
Tonight a good friend of mine asked, "If you could do anything right this minute, what would it be?" Before even thinking I answered, "Go home. Visit my family. And tell them I love them." It was automatic. All thoughts of traveling Europe, development work, getting into my first choice of graduate schools, seeing old friends, looking into the future, all of that vanished instantly. Life was clear again--and the spirit reminded me of what's truly important.
Family is an incredible gift from our loving Father in Heaven--make sure they know you love them and act in accordance to their worth. Sometimes we don't act on what we know, but the world would be a much better place if we did.
May our Father bless and keep each of us and those we love.
Have a great Saturday everyone.
