Truly-- this is the question. Which is to be master? How often in life we are confronted with a challenge (and here I do not mean trial, but simply a challenge)and subconsciously must answer the question, "which is to be master?"
Which is to be our house: hay, sticks, or brick? When the wolf comes knocking at our door and threatens to blow it down, will we crumple into a sad, pathetic pile? -OR- Will we stand firm and strong, like the house of bricks.
Too often in this life, we forget that we are the actors. We stand center stage to be master. Act-- do not be acted upon.
And above all else remember this, do not act upon yourself. As the Duchess reminds us, 'Be what you would seem to be.' We are our own worst enemy. You will defeat yourself before the enemy even has taken a swing if when the question, "which is to be master," comes you say -- you win.
You are the master. Never submit.
"Which is to be master?" You. Every time. It's you. Act-- 'be what you would seem to be.'
