Crossroads, Snow White Singing Queen in My Shower, Stinky Boys, and other stuff.

Alright all-fair warning- this post is going to be all over the place (kinda like my brain at the moment) if you can't keep up, don't worry about it. Neither can I sometimes, and it's my brain for crying-out-loud! Sheesh!

Here's the deal. I'm fast approaching an academic crossroad, and I have no idea what to do and it is STRESSING me out. I am seven courses away from finishing my political science BA and I have just ONE general education requirement to fill. Problem is, after those eight courses I still have a twenty-one credit deficit to actually "graduate." I'm sitting here in front of my fall schedule and thinking, "CRAP, I don't know what to do!" I don't know what I want to minor in, if I should just take even MORE political science classes and focus on a sub-field of political science, drop out of school and become a troubadour in Europe, I just don't know! And it really all depends on what I want to do for graduate school which is a story for another time. The point is, I have to take at least 12 credits this fall, and I am signed up for 6 (all of which are PL SC courses). I don't want to waste my time taking classes that are just fluff, but I don't have anything to do!

*SIGH* But on to other things.

I have to note a disclaimer here: I ADORE my roommates. They are really sweet, wonderful girls. However, Sarah loves to sing in the shower at six a.m. when I am sleeping. And she doesn't just sing, she belts. She has an *interesting voice*. It kinda sounds like if you had a cassette tape recording of Snow White and then you held down the fast-forward button. At least, that's what it sounds like to me when I am only partially coherent, and she is reaching for that amazing high note of Freddie's somewhere in the middle of Bohemian Rhapsody . . my advice, leave it to Freddie.

So,this morning- there I am, sitting in my economics class in a sea of BOYS. Not many girls take 110, and this morning I happened to be surrounded by BOYS. I mean, more than usual. And they were STINKY BOYS. I really don't know how to say this in lady-like way, so I apologize. But the guy next to me, I couldn't tell which one, kept "letting loose" if you know what I mean. There we are talking about calculating CPI and fixed baskets for the market and WAMO, "What IS that smell?" It happened at least three times. I swear all of my nostril hair burned out. It was traumatic. Not to mention rude. I couldn't believe it.

Finally, I'd just like to announce that I raised all the money I need to go to Haiti and I will be purchasing my plane ticket this upcoming Tuesday!!! WOOT, WOOT! I cannot wait to get out there!

Love you all! Song of the day is Africa by Toto. Such a good one. Check it out.

P.S- I rolled down a hill today. It was fantastic. Until I stopped and the world was spinning.

  1. Aw, what a *great* post! I think our minds are very much alike! If only we had "off" switches sometimes! LOL! And I absolutely LOVE your new header photo! Did you take that? It is GORGEOUS!

Crossroads are so hard... I know Daniel struggles at times too. It sure sounds like you have sped right along the path though - wow! Making lists are always a great thing. Talking to your mom is always a great thing. Getting the opinion of a good counselor or mentor you admire is always a good thing. Doing what you what you are passionate about is always a great thing. And one of the best things to remember is... Sometimes it's not between a right and wrong choice. Sometimes you get to choose between several right choices.

I'm so happy you like your roommates and that Sarah loves to sing. Singing is awesome. But Sarah needs to put a sock in it.

SO sorry about all those stinky boys :( Welcome to my world :/

*CONGRATULATIONS* for raising all the funds you needed for Haiti!!! That is totally awesome!!! I am proud of you and excited for you - please keep us posted about everything!

    XOXOXOXO

P.S. Love Toto! When we lived in Studio City, we had just seen them live at the Universal... when the next day I was grocery shopping and saw Steve Lukather and his wife at the store(!) I said hello and told him how much we had enjoyed their concert the night before. He was SO nice - and they were both so enamored with my adorable baby sitting in the shopping cart... which of course was Daniel :)

  2. Hey Megan! Thank you so much for the comment and encouragement.I laughed out loud at your "sarah" comment. Look for the continuation of that saga in my next blog post coming shortly.

Yeah, I actually got to skype with Daniel the other night, well my night and his morning. We chatted a little about my stuff that i have going on and he helped me feel a little better. He's such an amazingly supportive and great friend. I'm so grateful for him.

My condolences about the stinky boys. You are a *SAINT* to put up with them all the time.

I for sure will keep you up to date concerning the Haiti trip. Things are lining up so well. I know I am supposed to be in Haiti this summer. Can't wait!

P.S- I know, isn't Toto awesome!!! What a fantastic story. Can't believe Daniel didn't mention it when we talked about them. He's kinda given up on telling me things because whenever he does, generally I've already talked to you. He "pretends" to be all exasperated. It's funny. :-)

    XOXOXO.

  3. Have I taught you NOTHING!?! You should have said. "Um will the air polluter please either refrain from flatulence or sit outside the room, thank you."

The last thing you need in PS class is to be sampling someone else's intestinal air. Eeeeew.
