Sigh...

Well kids, this is it. I am down to the single digits in the count down to take-off. Haiti is a mere eight days away and the excitement-nervousness-thrill-suspense, etc. is building, building, building.

I cannot wait to fly out next Monday, but the funny thing is it doesn't seem real yet. I don't think the reality of what I am about to go and do will actually become a true reality until I cross through security at the airport in Port-Au-Prince. Even then, I'm not sure if I will honestly believe that I, little-ol-me, gets to take part in a world changing event. I get to see first hand; I get to experience like few college students get to experience.

All my love!

Song of the day is Oh What a Day by Ingrid Michaelson.

  1. GAH! How did I not comment on this??? Now it's a mere 5 days away!

Well, I don't know if it will ever feel real. I think there will be moments when the reality of it all hits you and knocks your socks off. And those moments will be AMAZING, even if they are completely overwhelming. And those are the moments you will take with you forever.

So when you're back at BYU, stressing over exams, and wondering if your whole Haiti experience was a dream, you can transport yourself back into one of those amazing moments and know that YES, it was real. I was there, and I made a difference.
